Chapter One:
Part One - Realizing Where You Are
There are 5 lessons in this chapter, with a workbook section for each lesson.

This book is about overcoming undesirable behavior and establishing behaviors that are not only acceptable but desirable.
This first chapter deals with realizing where we are in the process of being restored from these behaviors.
Day One Text:
There are three parts to this book. The first part is “Realizing Where You Are” and is about discovering your condition. The second part is “Cleaning Out The Well” and is about what you do when you discover your condition. The third part is “Keeping The Well Clean” and is about how to maintain the freedom you have found in your walk of faith.
This lesson is about realizing where you are and what you have to do about that to get to where you want to be.
As we begin our God Walk, one of the first things we need to realize is that God's plan for us is restoration.
God's plan for each one of us is that we would be prosperous, successful and that our lives would be abundantly full. If we live with less than that we need to find out why.

Day Two Text:
One verse that reveals God’s plan for us is Joshua 1:8, "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Here God is telling Joshua, and by extension, anyone who will consistently apply the principles he gives, that he will give success and prosperity. That is his desire.
God wants you and I to be successful in all that we do and he gives us a pattern to follow to reach that success. The core of what he was saying is to keep the law in our daily lives; continue to study it and meditate upon it because it holds the secret to success and prosperity.
Success is no accident. It comes as the result of consistently applying principles that have been proven to work.

Day Three Text:
Jesus dispels the myth that we can have our own side agreement with him outside of his revealed will. Jesus was addressing this very issue when he said, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life… to the full” John 10:7-10.
First Jesus said that he was the “gate” to the place of safety. Then he reminded us that there have been many imitators that make empty promises to get us into the safe place, but they are all thieves and liars. They are just after what you have to give them.
Every behavior in your life that separates you from the blessing that God has intended for you was born in the idea that you could provide for yourself better than God could. God is offering peace, blessing and prosperity, and these blessings cannot be obtained by taking another path.
Do not be deceived, the devil's plan for you is "to steal, kill and destroy" (John 10:10a). He will try every trick he can to convince you that going his way will give you what you really want.
The study for today deals with the attempts of Satan to deceive us and the offer of Christ to enter his sheep pen for safety.

Day Four Text:
Do you remember the story that Jesus told about the prodigal son? This is the story of a son deceived by ambition; his downfall and a father who would not compromise, neither would he give up loving his son.
Day Five Text:
Just as the prodigal's father loved him, so God loves us.
King David was faced with his sin and discovered that God loved him, even though he had sinned grievously.
God detests sin and rejoices in repentance.
